About The Book

Jonas Taylor had it all going for him, a beautiful wife and a job he loved to do, until one accident. Jonas was a highly ranked submarine diver, and was on his third dive of the week. He was with two scientists on their way to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Jonas had been dozing off during the ride down because he had been exhausted from his previous dives. Then out of nowhere, Jonas then saw a huge white shaped-triangular head and passed out. When he awoke he was in a hospital recovering from the injuries, the two scientists did not survive; Jonas was accused of killing the scientists. Jonas had been so tired he himself thought he was responsible for the scientists’ deaths. So Jonas gave up his career in submarine diving and became a paleobiologist. For seven years Jonas studied the Carcharodon megalodona, a cousin of the Great White Shark, excepting that this species is 70 feet long with 7-inch serrated teeth!

When Jonas got offered an opportunity to go back into the Mariana Trench, he took it intending to prove that the Carcharodon megalodona (Meg) still exists. When Jonas and DJ Tanaka reach the Challenger Deep (bottom), Jonas looked everywhere to find the 7-inch tooth. Then out of nowhere on Jonas’s sonar a red dot appeared that was coming in on them, and fast! Jonas demanded for DJ to shut off his sub but he refused, whatever it was getting closer and closer so finally, DJ shut off his power. DJ and Jonas sit their subs waiting for what was to come. In the distance Jonas spot’s a forty-five foot male Meg shark coming their way! Freaking out, Jonas flashed his sub’s light into the Meg’s eye, making the Meg swim away. Then DJ thought everything was fine so he went back to work. But the Meg’s instinct made him turn back. DJ was climbing as fast as he could to get to the frigid waters before the Meg got to him, but did not succeed; out of nowhere the Meg came in and attacked the sub killing DJ.

Jonas was lying on the bottom of the Mariana Trench with his sub’s power completely out. As the male was attacking DJ’s sub he didn’t even realize he was caught in the sub’s steel cable. Then, all of a sudden another Meg, this time a pregnant female swam right over Jonas’s submersible, heading toward her struggling mate. As the female was checking out the damage she started to attack her mate. Above water Heller demanded to have DJ’s sub pulled up to try to save his life. The female was still attacking when the steel cable line started pulling up; covered in blood the female started rising with the male. Heading toward the frigid waters the female was still attacking the male covered in his blood, she made it through the frigid waters, back up to the surface alive.

As the steel cable was surfacing Heller, and Terry Tanaka and medical care were waiting to see if DJ survived. Anticipation was running through everyone’s minds, especially the Tanaka family. When the shredded 45-foot male shark arose out of the water, everyone was in shock, especially because it had been ripped apart. Questions arose about what had done this. Jonas used the escape hatch to save his life, and when he surfaced Terry Tanaka had just happened to see him, so she pulled him in.

Jonas knew the pregnant female was alive and going to cause trouble. After Jonas got out of the hospital he was asked many questions about the female Meg. More cases of dead whales arose; then the female gave birth to three 11-foot Meg’s but ate one of them. So they decided to track the female shark, but all of the attempts failed; weeks passed with no encounters. Maggie Taylor (Jonas’s soon to be ex-wife) was a news reporter who was covering the news on the Meg and was about to be kicked off of the case due to no recent news. So she decided to get in the water in a wide plastic tube where Jonas predicted she would be. On a trial run Maggie actually encounters the shark, so she starts filming. Then Maggie notices she is starting to get pulled up and gets mad. As she is climbing onto the boat the Meg comes and grabs her by the legs, killing her.

After Maggie died Jonas realized how he loved her, but he was over it. Then, Terry Tanaka and Jonas fell in love. Jonas had one final plan to capture the Meg, so they tranquilized the Meg one night. Then as they were approaching the Tanaka tank to load the Meg, she woke up while Jonas was in the water. Meg then went on a rampage and started eating everything in the area. Many people were killed, and many boats sunk.  But luckily, Terry, Jonas, and many other people sent on the mission survived.  When Jonas, Terry, Heller, and the other few scientists left the scene where the Meg was, they caught a baby Great White, or so they thought.

NEWS ALERT!

Jonas Taylor was inside of the Meg and cut his way out with one of the Meg’s teeth.  Jonas was sacrificing his life to kill this monster.  Luckily, Jonas survived the torture of being inside the Meg.  When Jonas cut his way out of the Meg, he killed her.  So we no longer have to deal with the Carcharodon Megalodon, for now.
